Position Description:
The Manager of Operations responsible for the following functions:
- Oversee daily order fulfillment, receiving, & warehousing including picking, packing, quality control, and shipping for all non-food business units and buildings (2811 / 2945)
- Act as project manager for implementation of new clients and completion of larger scale project oriented fulfillment efforts
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), regularly auditing systems and developing strategies to improve efficiency and quality of work
- Maintain optimized solutions (cost / functionality) with respect to product packaging across the various fulfillment clients and types of products.
- Maintains operations staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
- Maintains operations warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Experience:
This position requires at least 6-8 years of experience with all aspects of operations (receiving, fulfillment, warehousing).
Position Guidelines:
- Manages teams and supervisors in the Operations business units and buildings.
- Work with vendors to ensure continuous improvement and optimal solutions for new and existing materials and concepts
- Oversee continued implementation of quoting/costing process and system
- Stay abreast of new/emerging industry technology and vendor capabilities, particularly around packaging
- Participation and leadership of relationship and business reviews with key partners and vendors
- Develops Policies and Procedures for Operations teams
- Publishes Daily, Weekly, and Monthly metrics for all responsible areas
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Operations (Receiving, Fulfillment, Warehousing)
- Effective project management skills
- Strong attention to detail and operational workflow dynamics and systems to effectively track and analyze the status within the procurement process
- Ability to define and provide operational metrics to clients and internal stake holders
- Ability to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline oriented environment
- Excellent communication and negotiating skills
- Ability to build relationships and work across a multi-site organization
- Strong analytics and computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
